The house where my girlfriend (Esperanza), our three cats (Lolita, Camilo and Tito) and I live has windows facing south and west. We prefer the view from the windows on the west side of the house because we can only see Gravilea and Coffee trees and birds, lots of them, But I thought you might find this vista a bit boring since you can not hear the singing of the birds or smell the sweet scent of the coffee trees. So, I decided to show the window and balcony view of Volcán de Agua, Water Volcano for you. Volcán de Agua appears in many of the photographs with a south view of town. Check the Volcanoes category for more photos or the entry Fire and Acatenango Volcanoes Wallpaper where you can consult a Google satellite map of Southern Guatemala and look at the relationship of La Antigua Guatemala and its volcanoes. I know this view could also be considered uninteresting since there are not many things going on, unlike Volcán de Fuego (Fire Volcano), but we prefer it that way. Wouldn’t you?

I used to have that view of the Volcán de Agua when I was living in the south part of Guatemala City, of course, not as close as you have it but at least you get to see the volcanoes. I got to see Volcán de Fuego ‘smoking’… and yes, Volcán de Agua is a dormant volcano

That is a picturesque view, even a soothing one since the volcano is inactive (thank goodness!).

When I saw that photograph, the one taken from your window (the volcano) my mouth freed a “wow” expression; then, when I read about the, “singing of birds and smell of the sweet scent of the coffee trees” I found myself releasing a second wow.
But what really made me feel even impressed, is that the shot was taken from a window. Your window.
I believe lots of people in Antigua might think they have the same, or maybe a better view!, but be sure Rudy, I can imaginary see, the proud smile drawn on your face.

Abe, I believe it gets really cold up there on top, but for sure there is no snow. Volcán de Agua is located in Guatemala, which is tropical country.
Sally, I believe Pamela from Tenerife DP is also looking out at a volcano. Her volcano does have snow.

Keropokman, to be honest, I don’t know if it is dormant or extinct. We call it volcano, so it must be dormant since an extinct volcano is a mountain, right?

Nathalie, long time no see around here. Actually the tall trees are the gravilea trees which provide the shadow needed by the coffee bushes which are about two meters in height.
Herbasio, of course you could have not have a view this close from Guatemala City. We live right on the Volcán de Agua’s skirt (falda). Muchas gracias por llenar el vacio que he dejado por mi falta de internet. Hasta hoy ya tengo servicio de internet en la casa de nuevo. Ha sido un mes bastante difícil.

I would be scared to look out a window and always see a volcano. It doesn’t matter if it was dormant or not, it’d just instill a deep fear in me.
